Comprehensive Crisis Plan Checklist (CCPC-2)
The CCPC-2 is the second edition of a checklist created to assist schools in the process of developing, creating, and/or evaluating their crisis plans. This checklist has 10 items separated into three sections: Prevention (48 items), Intervention (40 items) and Postvention (12 items). Raters compare their district or school crisis plan to the CCPC-R and decide if each item on the checklist (e.g., safety areas within each school building identified; cyberbullying policy is identified; plan for an intruder entering) is present in their crisis plan using a yes/no checkbox. The CCPC-R facilitates the local crisis team discussion about items that should appear in a school’s crisis plan and how comprehensive the current plan is for each potential crisis based on the districts unique cultural and geographical factors. Our current projects are using the CCPC-2 to examine crisis plans from across the country to determine which items are more likely to be incorporated into a plan.
