Christmas Decorating
If you know me, you know I love Christmas! The decorations, the music, the lights, the hustle and bustle, the excitement, and the gifts. And of course making sure the kids know the true meaning of Christmas and understand that it is about Jesus, not just getting presents. Back at home we have lots of decorations—two big trees covered with ornaments (both store bought and homemade), several small trees, the Christmas village, nutcrackers and snow globe collections, and garlands galore. The kids each have their own tree to put their own ornaments on, just like I did when I was little.
However, we couldn’t bring all of this to Hungary. A few doors down from our house is an Azia Diszkont store, or something like a Dollar General. For $12 we bought this ‘tree’ with clear gummy-like flowers on the branches. The coolest part is that they blink different colors! Then we put the ornaments and keychains we picked up during our travels on the tree for our ornaments. Zoey even made a 3d paper star for the top! With four strings of garland and a blanket around the bottom of the tree, we have a nice little holiday area.
Willow had fun decorating but she keeps taking her two stuffed keychains on and off the tree to play with. The tree looks great in the dark, which is great because it gets dark at 4:00 in the afternoon around here!
